We are excited to announce we have successfully launched in-home and social support services within Glen Eira. This expansion represents a significant collaboration between the two councils, aimed at providing the highest level of care for older residents.
The smooth and considered transition has ensured clients formerly receiving aged care services from Glen Eira City Council will continue to do so without interruption, as Bayside Care and Support automatically commenced delivering services on 11 November.
Commitment to supporting older residents to live in their own home for as long as possible
We are one of a small number of Melbourne Metropolitan councils who resolved to continue to deliver in-home care services when the Australian Government’s aged care reforms are fully implemented.
We have delivered services for more than 50 years and have a strong and trusted reputation within the community and have developed invaluable expertise in the sector.
Are there any changes to services that older residents who live in Bayside or Glen Eira are receiving?
We know clients benefit from consistency and long-term relationships with our service and we’re delighted that nearly all Glen Eira staff have been employed by Bayside City Council from 11 November. Bayside Care and Support will operate the Glen Eira service from Leila Road Carnegie. So, nothing or very little will change with support workers or office staff residents know.
Bayside residents will continue to receive services at the same level and to the same excellent quality they are accustomed. Bayside ratepayers will not be subsidising aged care services to Glen Eira.
This collaboration is a great result, one that has huge support from the Glen Eira community and staff, and it shows how councils can work together to continue to provide valued services.
