Beechboro attempted armed robbery

Regional Investigations Unit detectives are seeking information from the public to assist with their investigation into the attempted robbery of a delicatessen in Beechboro on Sunday, 10 October 2021.

Around 4.10pm, a man armed with a one metre stick entered the deli located on Beechboro Road North and assaulted a staff member (man in his 60s) with the stick and demanded cash. A struggled ensued and the staff member saw the offender was also armed with a knife.

The struggled continued for a short time before the offender fled empty handed. He was last seen running north on Timberlane Crescent between the deli and a service station. The victim was uninjured.

The offender is described as being 20 to 25 years of age, dark skinned, with a slim build, approximately 175cms tall, hair tied in a pony-tail. He was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and light coloured pants.
