Best Female Researchers In Sweden

In Research.com’s list of the best female researchers in Sweden, two researchers from IMM rank among the top ten: Alicja Wolk and Marie Vahter.

Alicja Wolk is a professor of nutritional epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet. Her research focuses on modifiable lifestyle factors, primarily diet and physical activity, that are linked to mortality, chronic diseases (cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.), and healthy aging, as well as studies on genetic susceptibility to cancer development.

Marie Vahter is a professor of metal toxicology and studies health issues resulting from exposure to toxic metals, primarily arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead. Her research focuses on the impact of metal exposure on fetal and child development, the onset of kidney and bone diseases, and cancer in the general population.

Research.com’s ranking of the best female researchers in Sweden is based on data collected from a wide range of bibliometric sources. The ranking is determined by the overall H-index, a bibliometric measure that combines the number of articles with citations per article. The ranking is based on a review of 166,880 profiles of leading female researchers from all major research fields.
