‘Book a court’ a hit for Cochrane Park

Booking a tennis court at Koo Wee Rup’s Cochrane Park is as easy as the click of a button with Cardinia Shire Council’s launch of the ‘book a court’ online system.

Cochrane Park, located at 243 Rossiter Road, Koo Wee Rup, is the shire’s second ‘book a court’ venue, and follows on from the success of the system at the Pakenham Regional Tennis Centre.

To book community members can simply visit Council’s website (www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/kooweeruptennisclub) – at any time of the day or night – and use the ‘book a court’ function to reserve a time to use the courts.

Once the hire process is completed, participants just need to enter their unique code (given to them upon payment) at the gate of the courts.

‘Book a court’ will allow for increased access to courts, reducing the time between an individual deciding they want to have a hit of tennis, and seeking someone to open the gates.

To celebrate the launch of the ‘book a court’ system, each court booking made throughout December will go in the draw to win a Tennis Victoria pack, and the winner will be announced in January 2020.

The installation of the new system comes just months after two new tennis courts were constructed at Cochrane Park, as well as the refurbishment of the two existing courts.

The works included acrylic surfacing, improved lighting and new shelters, which have been enjoyed by members of the Koo Wee Rup Tennis Club and local community.

The project was jointly funded by Council, who contributed $327,000 to the project, and the Victorian Government, who provided $250,000.

Please note:

  • Courts are available to hire between 6am and 10pm.
  • Court hire will be free for the first few months, until around February 2020, to allow the community to try the courts.
  • A fee of $5 will be required for any bookings that require lighting.
