On 16 March 2023, State Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh MP joined Mayor Councillor Steve Holland to officially open sporting facilities across the Peninsula.
New cricket nets at AR & F Ditterich Reserve in Main Ridge

State Government’s Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Community Cricket Project: $100,000
We’re excited to have officially opened the new three lane cricket nets at AR & F Ditterich Reserve in Main Ridge – home to the Main Ridge Cricket Club.
The project saw the removal of the previous cricket nets and building brand new enclosed three lane nets with synthetic grass.
New female-friendly facilities for Narambi Reserve oval

State Government’s Sport and Recreation funding: $490,704
Mornington’s Narambi Reserve is now set up with much-needed new female friendly sporting infrastructure through the construction of a new multi-purpose oval, sports field lighting to training standard and pathways.
Narambi Reserve is the home of the Mornington Junior Football Club and is an overflow site for the Mornington Cricket Club and Moorooduc Cricket Club.
The new oval and facilities will help the clubs continue to grow their participation, especially in female membership for AFL and cricket
New soccer pitch at Emil Madsen Reserve

State Government’s 2020-21 World Game Facilities Fund: $420,000
We’ve officially opened the new senior soccer pitch at Emil Madsen Reserve in Mount Eliza.
The project delivered a senior sized soccer pitch including drainage, irrigation, supporting infrastructure, natural grass and sports lighting.
The upgrade was due to the significant growth in participation at the Mount Eliza Soccer Club, in line with growth in soccer participation on the Peninsula.
