Boy arrested over convenience store robbery on Hindley Street, South Australia

Police have arrested a boy following a Hindley Street robbery this evening.

Police will allege just after 6pm on Thursday 19 September, a boy has entered a convenience store on Hindley Street and stole drinks before attempting to leave the store without paying. Upon leaving, a staff member has approached the boy who produced a knife and pointed it at the staff member. The staff member retreated and the boy left the store. No one was injured during the incident.

Police utilising CCTV, tracked the boy to nearby Light Square, where he was arrested. Police located the stolen drinks and the knife on the boy.

A 14-year-old boy from Gilles Plains was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. He was been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on 31 October.
