Break And Enter Charges At Mansfield

Detectives have charged a man after he allegedly used a stolen utility to force entry to two businesses in Mansfield.

It will be alleged just after 3am, April 17, a white dual cab ute, was deliberately reversed into the front of a tobacconist and a barber on Aminya Street.

The offender fled the scene in the same vehicle.

There was extensive damage caused to both businesses.

At 4.15pm on April 18, police observed a Toyota Hilux utility on Kingston Road in Waterford with false registration plates. Polair tracked the vehicle and the driver was subsequently arrested when he left the parked ute in Waldron Street at Yarrabilba.

The 28-year-old Kingston man has been charged with two counts each of break and enter premises, stealing and possession of dangerous drug (methamphetamine and buprenorphine). He has also been charged with one count each of possession of a weapon (knife), unlawful use of a motor vehicle, false registration plates and unlicenced driving.

He will reappear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 3.
