Brighten your day at UWAs colour blast

This International Pronouns Day, head along to The University of Western Australia’s Colour Blast for Zumba, a colour run (or walk), sausage sizzle and party at the finish line.

It’s all in aid of supporting gender diverse people, with proceeds from the event going to TransFolk of WA, a peer support service for transgender people and their loved ones in Western Australia.

UWA Sport’s People and Culture Manager Kate Campbell said the fundraiser was part of UWA’s commitment to supporting members of the LGBTIQA+ community.

“As part of the Colour Blast Pride fundraiser, we’re encouraging people to learn about personal pronouns, and to take the time to use the correct pronouns for others,” Ms Campbell said.

“At the same time it’s a great chance to get together with friends, enjoy the fun and support our rainbow community.”

The Colour Blast Pride fundraiser will take place on Wednesday 20 October, from 12pm to 2pm at UWA’s Crawley campus. The registration fee is $10 and includes a sausage sizzle.
