Bringing international students back to Canberra

International students are a vital part of Canberra’s diversity and make a significant contribution to our community.

Prior to the pandemic, international education was the ACT’s first billion dollar export industry, with more than 18,000 international students studying in one of our world-class institutions.

Recovering our international education sector is a key economic priority for the ACT Government.

To support universities to attract more international students to Canberra, the ACT Government has developed a digital toolkit of resources designed to showcase the lifestyle and opportunities Canberra offers, with current students sharing their own experiences of living, working and studying in the ACT.

The toolkit includes a range of videos, student testimonials, brochures and city guides to enhance the marketing efforts of our institutions and provide prospective students with an insight into our beautiful city.

Our city is welcoming and inclusive, offers an outstanding quality of life and access to some of the best universities in Australia. We have been voted one of the 50 best student cities in the world and our graduates enjoy strong employment outcomes.

The ACT Government will continue to work closely with universities to help promote Canberra and our higher education sector to students, both interstate and overseas.

The digital toolkit is available here.
