Broadmeadows kebab car theft

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a car was stolen from a service station in Broadmeadows last night (20 May).

Investigators have been told the victim left his black Ford Mondeo with registration plates XAO220 running whilst he went to get a kebab at the service station on Widford Street about 11.50pm.

It is alleged a black Mazda CX-5 bearing stolen plates 1EA7SF arrived at the service station and an occupant got out and attempted to drive the Ford off but was unsuccessful.

A second offender then got out of the stolen Mazda and drove off in the Ford.

The victim has seen the second offender and attempted to stop the theft by holding on to the door handle but was unable to stop it.

The stolen Ford was later found burnt out in Keilor.
