Bryce Bevan takes out REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition

A crowd of over 50 excited bidders, supporters and industry leaders packed into the Barnet Long Room of Sydney’s iconic Customs House last night to witness the crowning of the 2019 REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition champion.

Over 25 novice auctioneers battled it out over the course of the competition but, in the end, Bryce Bevan was named the winner.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic to be crowned the 2019 NAC Champion,” says Bevan, a Bloodstock Consultant with Inglis. “I feel very privileged and honoured to join such an illustrious group of people who have won the competition and gone on to greater and bigger things within the real estate industry.”

NAC Head Judge, Clarence White, says it was Bevan’s sheer determination that got him over the line.

“Bryce competed in three NAC heats before securing a place in the final,” says White. “With each performance he demonstrated marked improvement, culminating in a confident display at the finals.”

The NAC is a platform for the state’s would-be and up-and-coming auctioneers to try their hand at auctioneering. Each participant auctions a luxury item of their choice with funds raised in the heats and the final going directly to REINSW’s 2019 charity partner, Domestic Violence NSW (DVNSW).

“Real estate agents spend a lot of time in peoples’ homes and have a unique insight into their lives,” says REINSW President, Leanne Pilkington. “Domestic violence is a shameful aspect of our culture and we have a responsibility to offer support where we can, and where it is safe to do so.”

REINSW has committed to raising $25,000 for DVNSW in 2019. The funds raised at this year’s NAC – which exceed $8000 – will support DVNSW in achieving its vision of a world where women, families and communities live free from violence.
