Territory businesses are being provided with a number of opportunities to help build their businesses by attracting more workers, as part of the Territory Labor Government’s $12.8 million workforce boost package.
The Territory Labor Government is creating jobs and helping business find the workers they need, which will help grow industry and boost the economy. These programs will help support a $40 billion economy in the Territory by 2030.
Global Workforce Attraction Campaign
The Global Workforce Attraction Campaign has now entered the phase 2 marketing campaign, targeting Australian and overseas workers to #movetotheTerritory.
Phase 2 of the marketing campaign is called ‘Make it to the top’, focusing on career climbers and those seeking to progress their lives personally and professionally.
The campaign targets skilled and semi-skilled workers aged between 18-45 in Australia and across the world.
Territory businesses are encouraged to get involved by loading their jobs onto recruitment platforms Seek and CareerOne, downloading assets from the worker attraction toolkit to raise awareness of job opportunities and moving to the Territory for work, and including the hashtag #movetotheTerritory on social media posts throughout the campaign, which runs until 31 December.
Flexible Workforce Solution Fund
Businesses also need to move quickly to make the most of the Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund, with Expressions of Interest now open until August 15.
Grants of up to $200,000 are available for local businesses and industry to collaborate on projects that help to address workforce shortages in the Territory, with consortiums now only needing to contribute 25 per cent of the total cost.
Eligible projects could include regional industry workforce solutions, seasonal workforce strategies, leveraging new technology or innovation, or delivery of direct, in-country worker recruitment services.
