Detectives are investigating a burglary which occurred at a home on Karrabin Rosewood Road, Karrabin on Monday, October 7.
At about 6:30am a 71-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man were woken by a noise at the front door.
The man opened the front door and saw two females and a male, all unknown to him.
The man demanded money and the victim replied he didn’t have any and closed and locked the front door.
The three offenders then entered the house through a rear sliding door and the male was armed with a machete and was waving it around.
One of the female offenders was armed with a bottle of liquid and has squirted the liquid on the 73-year-old-man and threatening to light the liquid.
The 71-year-old woman has come out of the bedroom and was assaulted by one of the female offenders who pulled her to the ground then commenced to kick her multiple times to the side of her head.
The offenders left the home in a dark blue, Holden Astra, possibly a 2000 model. It is believed the car had a dent over the rear tail light and a cracked windscreen.
The man is described as olive skin, solid build, shoulder length shaggy dark hair and approximately 185cm tall. He was wearing dark coloured hoodie with dark coloured pants.
One woman is described as olive skin, heavy build, dark brown wavy shoulder length hair, and approximately 160cm tall.
The second woman is described as long dirty blonde hair, fair skinned with a thin build. She was approximately 160cm tall.
The 73-year-old man received minor lacerations to his hand and head.
The 71-year-old woman received a suspected broken finger and lacerations and swelling to her head.
Both victims were transported to hospital for further treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the area at the time. Anyone with dashcam vision are asked to contact police.
