Bushfire Series In Mandurah District

Strike Force Vulcan officers are currently investigating the cause of a series of four fires that occurred in the Mandurah District during the evening of Wednesday, 21 February 2024. The cause of the fires are being treated as suspicious.

• About 8.30pm, a bushfire was reported to have started in the Henley Bushland Park on Henley Boulevard in Wellard;

• About 8.33pm, another bushfire was reported in bushland on Meares Avenue in Parmelia;

• Another fire was reported about 8.51pm, in bushland off Wellard Road in Calista;

• The fourth fire was reported about 8.55pm, in bushland off Wellard Road in East Rockingham.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel were called to each fire and managed to extinguish the each fire before they were able to spread.

Strike Force Vulcan investigators wish to speak to anyone in the vicinity of the fires who saw any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity. Anyone with any information relating to this fire, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
