ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: The fire has crossed the Victoria Highway and is burning in a north westerly direction towards the Katherine River. Residents located on Murnburlu Road should enact their bushfire survival plan and prepare to leave if required.
Firefighting crews and aircraft are working in the area, please avoid any unnecessary travel through. There is significant smoke and active fire impacting the Victoria Highway and drivers are urged to slow down and turn on headlights.
