Call For Multicultural Commissioner Applicants

VIC Premier

The Andrews Labor Government is calling for passionate multicultural and multifaith leaders to apply for Commissioner positions at the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC).

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Colin Brooks today announced expressions of interest are open to fill roles in the VMC, including the Youth Commissioner, Community Representative Commissioner and general Commissioner positions.

The VMC advocates for Victoria’s diverse communities, developing strategies and providing critical advice to Government to address the issues facing multicultural and multifaith groups in Victoria.

The VMC is made up of 12 commissioners appointed by the Governor-in-Council to serve terms of up to four years. VMC Commissioners should have lived experience and represent the diversity of Victoria’s multicultural communities.

The terms of four sitting Commissioners will conclude in September 2023, which presents an opportunity to recruit engaged community leaders who are committed to advocating for positive change and supporting multicultural communities across Victoria.

Applications are encouraged from community leaders in regional and rural areas as well as new and emerging communities.

Applications close 11.59pm on Sunday, 14 May 2023. For more information on how to apply visit Victorian Multicultural Commissioners – Fisher Leadership
