Call for nominations – Reconciliation Action Plan Advisory Group

Reconciliation Plan Advisory Group

The City of Swan has developed its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and is calling for nominations for community representatives to fill two vacancies on the Reconciliation Action Plan Advisory Group (RAPAG).

The RAPAG aims to identify important issues and topics to consider for the development and implementation of the City’s RAP. They may also act upon matters referred for consideration by Council.

The RAP is a strategic document that aims to strengthen the City’s relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, build a culture of respect, and implement work practices that promote equity and opportunity for all.

Over the next two years, the main role for RAPAG members will be to guide and assist the implementation of the City’s RAP. This will include working collaboratively with the City to achieve specific RAP goals.

RAPAG meetings will be held four times per year.

To be eligible, you must be one or more of the following:

  • An Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person who lives, works or has connections within the City,
  • A non-Aboriginal resident who would like to contribute to reconciliation within the City, or
  • An Aboriginal community group and other organisations supporting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community who have operations with the City.

If you are passionate about reconciliation we invite you to complete the nomination form by Friday April 1, 2022.
