Round two of Rockhampton Regional Council’s Community Assistance Program (CAP) is closing 28 February 2022.

Communities and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said if there are community groups out there planning an initiative, activity or program that will contribute to our community, now is the time to apply!

“Each year, Council supports a range of community initiatives and projects that deliver great outcomes for our community,” Cr Wickerson said.

“This funding program consistently supports eligible groups through a number of categories.

“Whether it is new equipment for sporting or theatre groups, to venue hire, events and much more – there are plenty of opportunities for community organisations to benefit from this program.”

Water and Environmental Sustainability Councillor Donna Kirkland said the Environmental Sustainability category has seen some fantastic initiatives delivered in recent years.

“Since Council brought in this category in 2019 we have been able to support some wonderful initiatives, and help our community put their passion for the environment into action.

“This category can support a wide variety of activities including community education; on-ground works; targeted energy, waste and water improvements; or even a school sustainability project, so if you’ve got a great initiative that could do with some support, send in your application today!”

Categories of funding include:

  • Awards Scheme
  • Community Grants Scheme
  • Community Organisation Support
  • Community Sponsorship Scheme – Minor & Major
  • Small Projects Scheme
