Campbellfield attempted armed robbery

Detectives from Fawkner Embona Taskforce are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a service station in Campbellfield this month.

Investigators have been told two males arrived in a car at the Somerton Park Drive business about 10pm on 8 September.

When the doors opened the first man rushed in and pointed what appears to be a firearm at the employees and demanded money from the till.

The second man placed water bottles in front of the doors to keep them from closing and approached the till with a pole in his hand.

One of the offenders hits an employee with the firearm, and while attempting to push his bag under the grill, he knocks the money trays onto the ground.

Both offenders then run back toward the doors and on the way out point the firearm at two on duty paramedics in their vehicle outside before driving away in their own car.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The first offender is described as aged in his late teens to early 20s and was wearing all black clothing, red shoes, gloves and a face covering.

The second offender was wearing a grey hooded top, black track pants, grey sneakers, paisley face mask, Nike bag and was holding what looked like a firearm.

Investigators have released images and CCTV in the hope someone may recognise the men.
