Cannabis found in hotel room raids

A man has been charged with drug offences after police searched two Metro hotel rooms on Monday.

Just after 2pm Monday 11 April following an investigation Eastern District police and CIB attended a hotel on South Terrace, Adelaide. Police searched the room uncovering 11 vacuum sealed bags of cannabis weighing approximately one (1) pound each.

As police were about to leave the hotel room the occupant returned and was subsequently arrested. In his possession police allegedly located keys to another hotel room at a different location.

Police attended and searched a second hotel room at a Jasper Street, Hyde Park address, were they located a further eight bags of cannabis.

The 23-year-old NSW man was charged with two counts of traffic in a large commercial quantity of cannabis. He appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody to reappear at a later date.
