Car hits shopfront, man charged in Riverwood

A man has been charged after his car crashed into a shopfront at Riverwood this morning.

Police believe the BMW was being driven along Belmore Road at 12.45am (Tuesday 29 October 2019), when it continued through the intersection with Thurlow Road and drove into the store.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene and allegedly refused a roadside breath test.

The Dapto man was taken to St George Police Station where he again allegedly refused to undergo a breath analysis.

The man has now been charged with two counts of refuse a breath test. He’s been conditionally bailed to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 26 November 2019.

The man’s licence has been suspended.

The storefront sustained significant damage.
