CCTV released over fraudulent online ticket sales in South Sydney PAC

Detectives investigating the online fraudulent sale of sporting events and music tickets have released CCTV in an appeal for public assistance.

In November 2019, detectives from South Sydney Police Area Command commenced an investigation, following reports a person had been advertising fraudulent tickets on an online trading website.

Police have been told several tickets were advertised for sale for major sporting events, music concerts, music festivals and food festivals.

People wanting to purchase the tickets are directed to send money to a bank account, believed to have been opened with stolen identification information; however, after payment is provided, the ticket never arrives.

As part of their inquiries, detectives are keen to speak with a man and woman who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s or 30s, of an athletic build, with brown hair, and full-length sleeve tattoos on both arms.

The woman has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her 20s, of a medium build, and with brown hair.

The two are believed to reside in Melbourne, Victoria.

Anyone who sees these two, or has more information that can assist investigators, is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
