Central Coast man and woman charged over drug and robbery offences, NSW

A man and a woman will face court today on 37 charges over alleged drug and robbery offences on the Central Coast.

In October 2019, detectives from Brisbane Water Police District Drug Unit established Strike Force Oldaker to investigate the importation and supply of steroids in Erina and surrounding areas.

Two people, a man and a woman, have previously been charged and remain before the courts.

As a result of their inquiries, strike force detectives commenced an investigation into two aggravated break and enter offences from September 2019 – one on Tuesday 17 September at Wamberal and a second on Friday 27 September at Hamlyn Terrace.

Police will allege about 9.45pm on Friday (27 September 2019), a group of men attended a Hamlyn Terrace home and assaulted a 24-year-old man outside, before entering the home and attempting to kidnap another person from inside.

They left the scene in a black Holden Commodore a short time later.

Following extensive inquiries, police stopped a vehicle about 5pm yesterday (Thursday 18 June 2020), on

the Central Coast Highway at West Gosford, where they arrested a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.

Police will allege in court the pair organised and had prior knowledge of the Hamlyn Terrace break and enter offence, and that the man was involved in the supply of almost 9kg of steroids

They were taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with 37 offences.

The 29-year-old man has been charged with 34 offences; supply commercial quantity of drugs, supply drug on an ongoing basis (nine counts), supply prohibited drug (20 counts), robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm, and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage, knowingly deal in proceeds of crime, and knowingly direct activities of criminal group.

The 25-year-old woman has been charged with charged with armed robbery cause grievous bodily harm, attempt to detain for advantage in company, and attempt to acquire firearm.

Both were refused bail to appear at Newcastle Court later today (Friday 19 June 2020).

Investigations under Strike Force Oldaker are ongoing with further arrests expected.
