From 1 September 2022, the VBA is accepting gas servicing records via email.

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) previously emailed you regarding important amendments to the Gas Safety (Gas Installation) Regulations 2018, which came into effect on 1 June 2022.

These regulatory changes set a clear minimum standard for the servicing of gas appliances a nd require a record of service to be provided to the customer and the VBA for service work carried out on standard gas installations.

We have had ongoing conversations with industry to ensure the Gas Servicing Record Portal is fit for purpose. We have already made several changes, communicated to you in June.

Following further feedback, we are continuing to streamline the portal to ensure it is as easy as possible for you to use and meet your reporting obligations.

From 9 September 2022, the portal will be taken offline to allow further upgrades to make it as user friendly as possible.

In order to allow you to meet your reporting requirements under the Amendment Regulations, from 1 September 2022, the VBA will accept all the reporting information viae mail.

The VBA will accept records that contain all the required information from the Amendment Regulations in your preferred format or template. If you don’t have your own template available, you can use the VBA’s optional Gas Servicing Record template (PDF, 1188.76 KB) to support compliance with the requirements. Head to the VBA website
