Charges laid against second former Rebels OMCG member over criminal network, NSW

Strike Force Raptor have charged a second former Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) member as part of investigations into an alleged criminal network.

Detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor established Strike Force Pavasovic to investigate the activities of criminal networks, including the supply of prohibited drugs, across Sydney.

During the course of the investigation, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Penrith on Monday 18 February 2019.

At the home, investigators located 2kg of cocaine, methylamphetamine, MDMA, cash, and drug paraphernalia. These items were seized for forensic examination.

A 40-year-old man was charged with supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drug, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Wednesday 20 February 2019, where he was formally refused bail to reappear before the same court on Friday 19 July 2019.

As part of their inquiries, a 29-year-old man was charged in June 2019 and remains before the courts.

Following further investigations, Strike Force Raptor arrested a 35-year-old man at a home in Emu Plains just after 8am today (Wednesday 10 July 2019).

The man, who is a former member of the Rebels OMCG, was taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with take part in the supply of large commercial quantity of prohibited drug, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, assault officer in execution of duty, and resist officer in execution of duty.

Police will allege in court that the man was involved in the supply of prohibited drugs, including methylamphetamine located at the Penrith property, within the Sydney area.

The man was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.

Investigations under Strike Force Pavasovic continue.
