Charges laid under strike force drug investigation at Wagga Wagga, NSW

A man has been charged following a strike force investigation into the supply of illicit drugs in the state’s south west.

In April 2020, Strike Force Detop was established by investigators from the Southern Region Enforcement Squad to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Wagga Wagga area.

Following an extensive investigation, strike force investigators, with the assistance of officers from Riverina Police District, arrested a 33-year-old man on Sturt Street, Wagga Wagga, about 9.50am today (Thursday 8 October 2020).

The man was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug and tale part supply prohibited drug.

Police will allege the man was supplying methylamphetamine on an ongoing basis between July and August 2020.

He was refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Thursday 8 October 2020).

Inquiries are continuing.
