The Territory Labor Government will be travelling toTimor-Leste today to attend the Bi-Lateral meeting where a new three yearStrategic Partnership Agreement will be signed.
The Agreement recognises and reinforces the strongrelationship that exists between the Northern Territory and Timor-Leste.
Focusing on business, jobs, and health, the Chief Minister,along with Minister Fyles, Minister Lawler, Minister Kirby, and the Member forKatherine Sandra Nelson, will be meeting with:
- The agriculture and fisheries sector, including the Minister HE MrJoaquim Jos Gusmo dos Reis Martins
- Visiting the Centre of Disease Control with the HE Vice-Minister forHealth Ms lia Antnio de Arajo dos Reis Amaral
- Hosting a NT business roundtable with local NT businesses operating inTimor-Leste.
This delegation toTimor-Leste strengthens cultural ties and opens new business, trade andinvestment opportunities.
The Northern Territory Government welcomes the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement andwill work with Timor-Leste to identify strategic priorities and manage keyprojects together.

The Northern Territory and Timor-Leste maintain a unique andclose relationship based on economic, strategic and cultural ties.
Todays Bi-Lateral meeting will further strengthen the Territorysrelationship with Timor-Lester and further promote our ever growing sectorssuch as vocational education, agriculture, and tourism.
