Child indecent treatment and exploitation material charges at Morningside, QLD

Detectives from the Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 28-year-old man following investigations into child indecent treatment and exploitation material in Brisbane’s south.

It will be alleged that the man had used an online chat platform to communicate with a 13-year-old boy before attempting to meet him in person.

A report was made to police on Sunday, April 7, with detectives immediately conducting enquiries.

Following those investigations, officers arrested the 28-year-old Whitsundays man near a Lang Street park at Morningside yesterday.

He has been charged with three counts of indecent treatment of child under 16, two counts of using internet to procure children under 16, and one count of possessing child exploitation material.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, April 11.
