Construction of the new Chittick Park Dog-Friendly Space in Seymour continues to progress, with the project’s perimeter fencing now installed.
Located behind the Seymour Tennis Complex, the new dog-friendly space will provide a safe and welcoming place for local dogs and their owners to exercise, train and socialise.
Once complete, the facility will include:
- A fully fenced off-leash area
- A separate shy dog zone
- Secure double-gated entries
- Seating for all abilities
- Trees and landscaping for shade
- Natural features including logs and rocks
- A digging pit
- A variety of surfaces to support play and training
The project is a key action identified through the Chittick Park Master Plan following community consultation and will help meet the growing demand for dedicated off-leash spaces in Seymour.
The project is being delivered thanks to $166,500 from the Victorian Government’s New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program and a $66,500 contribution from Mitchell Shire Council.
