In this season of giving, the Camden community has dug deep, donating more than 200 gifts as part of the Mayor’s Christmas Giving Appeal.
All the gifts were donated to Turning Point Camden, a local charity which provides services that alleviate stress by meeting an immediate need and giving people options to choose a way forward.
The charity achieves this by providing emergency food relief, programs and services that address the many challenges families and individuals are experiencing.
The giving trees were located at Camden, Narellan and Oran Park Libraries, as well as Camden Civic Centre.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, thanked the community for getting behind the Mayor’s Christmas Giving Appeal.
“Something I’ve found time and time again is that Camden is a community of people that helps and supports one another,” she said.
“The community’s eager participation in supporting the Giving Appeal is of no surprise to me, but I feel incredibly thankful to everyone who donated.
“I’m sure these donations will go a long way in helping Turning Point Camden support our community.”
A recipient through Turning Point Camden, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Camden community.
“I just can’t believe someone could be so generous and kind towards a complete stranger,” they said.
“This community is incredible, and one day when we’re on our feet, we’ll pay it forward.”
