A man has been injured after a fire at a Blakeview home.
Just after 4.20pm on Wednesday 28 October, police and emergency services were called to a house on Highland Circuit, Blakeview after reports of a fire.
When police arrived, a woman from the premises had evacuated after sustaining minor injuries.
Police located a 45-year-old man at the rear of the property suffering significant burns. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital, where he remains.
Investigations have established that the fire was deliberately lit inside the home, with the fire spreading to a door and door frame.
Detectives and crime scene investigators attended and examined the property. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s involvement are continuing.
Police wish to reassure the community that this was not a random incident and the parties involved are known to one another.
