A man has been charged with murder after a woman was allegedly fatally stabbed in the state’s northwest this morning.
About 2.15am (Thursday 29 October 2026), emergency services were called to a unit on Rockvale Road, Armidale, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to New England Police District attended and found a 48-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds.
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.
A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with murder (DV).
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 today (Thursday 29 October 2026).
