Tonnage Triumph: ReLove It Wagga Wagga Smashes Recycling Records

ReLove It Wagga Wagga is officially a recycling powerhouse; since its rebrand in March this year its average weekly weight of recycled goods has increased from 1000 kilograms a week to 16,000 kilograms.

Formerly known as The Tip Shop, Relove It Wagga Wagga, located at Gregadoo Waste Management Centre, is a second-hand store that diverts quality products away from landfill.

REBRAND: Since the launch of the rebrand in March 2026, ReLove It Wagga Wagga’s turnover has increased by 15,000 kilograms a week.

ReLove It Shop Coordinator Katrina Dawson said the rebrand has boosted the initiative’s visibility.

“Following the vibrant rebrand, our local community has transformed the way we look at second-hand goods, sending diversion rates skyrocketing and keeping reusable materials out of landfill,” Ms Dawson said.

“Before the rebrand, the shop was ticking along with an average weekly diversion weight of 1,006.5kg, however, over the last three months, the average weekly weight of diverted goods has surged to 16,261.39kg!

“This is a massive increase in re-loved items, proving that one person’s clutter is another person’s treasure.”

Every kilogram counted represents a piece of furniture, a kitchen appliance, garden gear, or a home decor item that was given a second life instead of being discarded into landfill.

NEW LIFE: ReLove It Wagga Wagga gives quality second-hand items an extended lifespan and diverts them away from landfill.

Keeping items in use lowers the community’s carbon footprint and cuts the high costs of managing landfill waste.

“Every piece of furniture, bicycle, kitchenware, or book sold at ReLove It is a win for Wagga Wagga,” Katrina Dawson said.

“If a lawnmower just needs a spark plug, or a table needs a loose leg tightened, we want to give it that chance. It saves residents money – whether they are dropping off or buying.”

Residents are encouraged to drop off their unwanted household items, that are still in good condition, to the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC) Waste Transfer Station where they will be assessed for resale through the ReLove It shop.

Thank you, Wagga Wagga, for helping us rewrite the script on waste. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to Re Love It!
