Clandestine laboratory dismantled at Broken Hill, NSW

Police have located and dismantled a clan lab as part of investigations into the manufacture of prohibited drugs in the state’s Far West.

As part of ongoing investigations into the manufacture and supply of methylamphetamine in the Broken Hill area, detectives from Barrier Police District, assisted by the Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a home on Boughtman Street just after 7am on Wednesday (Wednesday 20 January 2021).

During the search, police located and seized methylamphetamine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, a replica firearm and prohibited weapons.

Equipment and chemicals, consistent with the supply and manufacture of prohibited drugs, were also located.

As a result, a crime scene warrant was executed at the home and the lab was rendered safe.

Officers from the Drug and Firearms Squad Chemical Operations Unit commenced the dismantling process today (Friday 22 January 2021), which has now been completed. The items seized will undergo further examination.

Investigations are continuing and no arrests have been made at this stage.
