Cleaning blitz for City of Whittlesea streets

Streets and high-touch surfaces in the City of Whittlesea will receive extra cleaning and disinfecting in a cleaning blitz as part of the Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria initiative.

Cleaning provider ISS will be out and about in the City of Whittlesea wiping down surfaces such as street benches, handrails and door handles, traffic light buttons, poles, bicycle stands and bins.

The program complements the work Council is already doing to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The cleaning blitz not only ensures our community that local streets are being carefully cleaned for their safety, it is also providing jobs for those who need them at this time.

Cleaners have been employed across Victorian council areas as part of the Working for Victoria program which creates employment for people who have lost work as result of the coronavirus pandemic.
