The ARC has published its Commitment to Responsible Research Assessment statement and accompanying principles and has signed the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).
The statement outlines how the ARC will conduct research assessment in line with contemporary best practice, ensuring processes are fair, meaningful, and support a diverse and inclusive research culture.
The commitment applies to:
- Research Insights Capability evaluations
- Assessment of applications to the National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP)
- NCGP scheme evaluations
To further embed this commitment, ARC CEO Professor Ute Roessner signed DORA on behalf of the ARC.
‘By signing DORA, I am pleased to affirm the ARC’s ongoing commitment to fair and inclusive research assessment, recognising the diversity of high-quality research conducted across Australia. The ARC looks forward to continuing to work closely with the DORA team in the future,’ Professor Roessner said.
