Small Grant Winners Announced

The Communities for Children program Small Grants winners have just been announced for 2020/2021.

Run by The Salvation Army in the South-East of Tasmania, Program Manager Tanya Brooks-Cooper announced the successful applicants today, saying “Communities for Children is really thrilled to able to support such a great range of project ideas, that really enhance the wellbeing of children in our communities of the Brighton, Southern Midlands, Central Highlands and Derwent Valley Council areas.”

This year the program was inundated with applications for projects including those that assist students in self-esteem and wellbeing, school gardens, community collaborative leadership programs and some more pop up Playgroups with some healthy eating on side to encourage happy, healthy kids.

“Coming out of COVID-19 we see great benefits in connecting families into each other and into services that can assist if times are tough.” Ms Brooks-Cooper said.

The successful grant winners are listed below (in attachment), and media are invited to contact the Communities for Children program staff to arrange photo opportunities.
