Hat Head can look forward to an excellent community garden thanks to Council’s Community Grants Program.
The Hat Head Community Garden group was awarded $4,005 to build and maintain raised vegetable gardens in a vacant area within the village.
The plan is for four timber beds to be installed and spaced widely enough for ease of access by wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams. To make navigating the garden easy, the pathways around the beds will be lined with rubber matting. The beds will be constructed with built-in wooden plank seating for ease of access by less able volunteers.
