The meeting will be hosted by the Central West Police District and the Orange Community Safety Precinct Committee (CSPC).

JOIN THE CONVERSATION: A community meeting to discuss ways to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour will be held on Tuesday 13 September.

It will be attended by representatives from Orange Police including Officer In Charge, Chief Inspector Peter Atkins and Crime Manager, Inspector Brett Smith, as well as representatives from Orange City Council including Mayor Jason Hamling and other councillors, and community stakeholders.

The police officers will provide a snapshot of crime statistics in the city and discuss ways in which crime is being addressed before inviting those in attendance to share their perspectives on crime and safety issues.

Cr Hamling welcomed the chance to hold a community discussion about crime prevention and encouraged anyone interested in contributing to the conversation to come along to the meeting.

“This is an opportunity for all local residents, business owners and anyone with concerns to meet with local police and have their say on the issues of crime and antisocial behaviour in Orange,” Cr Hamling said.

“I am looking forward to hearing local residents share their perspectives on crime and safety issues and getting involved as a community in developing solutions and strategies to address crime.”

The community meeting will be held at 10am on Tuesday 13 September 2022, in the Orange Regional Gallery theatre at 149 Byng Street.
