Council has launched a community-wide survey to gather input from the community to help guide and shape the future of Stawell.

The Stawell Town Plan: A Vision for the Future will inform future development and investment with a particular focus on the town centre and Western Highway precinct to make Stawell a better place to live, work, invest and visit.

A major priority of the plan will be to guide the preferred location, type and use of new development in Stawell and to accommodate population and economic growth for the next 20-30 years.

To understand the vision of the future of the town, council wants to hear directly from the community via this survey which also allows for individuals and community groups/organisations to upload a written submission regarding the plan.

Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Murray Emerson, said this level of community engagement is crucial to ensuring the plan delivers what people need and want.

“We need to hear from you in this plan,” he said.

“This is a project that must be informed by the people of our shire to ensure the people’s vision for the future is heard, considered, and implemented.”

“This is your town and I encourage everyone to have your say about its future and how that will look.”

The answers to the survey questions and the written submissions will all go directly towards shaping Stawell’s future.

The survey can be filled out online by visiting www.ngshire.vic.gov.au/stawell-plan or hard copies can be obtained from our customer service centres in Stawell and St Arnaud.
