Construction underway to upgrade South Bunbury Primary School

  • Election commitment to upgrade South Bunbury Primary School on track
  • New school facilities worth $5.5 million will support local jobs and benefit local families
  • McGowan Government committed to upgrading education facilities across the State
  • Premier Mark McGowan today visited South Bunbury Primary School to view upgrades to the school’s facilities and meet local workers.

    The new $5.5 million facilities will include a new early childhood block, general teaching block and a refurbishment of the existing kindergarten.

    Other infrastructure projects in the region currently underway include an early childhood education block at Eaton Primary School, a science block at Eaton Community College and a STEM centre at Newton Moore Senior High School.

    Planning has also started for a new cafeteria at Bunbury Senior High School.

    These projects are part of the McGowan Government’s commitment to invest $452.8 million in 2019-20 to improve infrastructure in Western Australian public schools and create jobs.

    As stated by Premier Mark McGowan:

    “My Government is committed to providing families and children around the State with the best possible learning environments.

    “We are spending over $450 million this year to improve infrastructure in Western Australia’s schools, to upgrade learning facilities and to support local jobs.”

    As stated by Bunbury MLA Don Punch:

    “Upgrades to South Bunbury Primary School was one of my key election commitments and I’m pleased to see how well construction has progressed.

    “South Bunbury Primary is a popular school and these upgrades will mean students are able to learn in the best possible facilities.

    “I’m looking forward to seeing our other school upgrades take shape and the positive impact they will have on local students’ learning experiences.”
