Consultation is open for the draft Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan

The plan charts a path forward to guide future primary health care reform over the next decade. Public consultation on the draft Plan is open until 11.59 pm, Tuesday 9 November, 2021.

The consultation period is now open for the draft Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan.

The plan draws on input from consultations with individuals and organisations across the country from late 2019 to mid-2021, and represents a high-level response to the recommendations of the Primary Health Reform Steering Group, which has been working since October 2019 on future directions for primary health care reform.

Drawing on this extensive engagement process, and diversity of views expressed, the plan synthesises ambitions for the future of primary health care in Australia into 3 broad streams:

  • Stream 1 – Future focused primary health care
  • Stream 2 – Person-centred primary health care, supported by funding reform
  • Stream 3 – Integrated care, locally delivered

You can now provide feedback on the draft plan, and individuals and organisations with an interest in primary health care and what a future focused system can deliver for all Australians are encouraged to share their views.

You can provide written submissions online at our Consultation Hub until 11:59 pm, 9 November 2021.
