The Tasmanian Liberal Government is continuing to deliver important legislative reform for Tasmanians, with 12 Acts coming into law this week, bringing this year’s total to 37, with several others still to come into law by the end of the year.
Despite the impact of COVID-19 on Parliament, we have been able to bring forward a packed agenda that has substantially made up for lost time earlier this year.
We are getting on with the job of implementing our plan to rebuild our economy as we recover from the pandemic.
The Bills that received Royal Assent this week include:

- Justice Miscellaneous (Court Backlog and Related Matters) Act 2020
- On-Demand Passenger Transport Services Industry (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 2020
- Neighbourhood Disputes About Plants Amendment Act 2020
- Residential Tenancy Amendment (COVID-19) Act 2020
- Building and Construction (Regulatory Reform Amendments) Act (No. 2) 2020
- Architects Amendment Act 2020
- Teachers Registration Amendment Act 2020
- Vehicle and Traffic Amendment (Road Vehicle Standards) Act 2020
- State Service Amendment (Validation) Act 2020
- Anzac Day Trust Winding-Up Act 2020
- Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) Amendment Act 2020
Between these important legislative reforms and our job-creating, confidence-building State Budget that was handed down last week, we are strongly focused on boosting the economy and rebuilding a stronger Tasmania.
