Cook Government supports leadership in life sciences

  • Life Sciences WA Inc will receive $490,000 (ex GST) in sponsorship over the next two years
  • Funds provided through the State Government’s $8.65 million commitment to implement its Health and Medical Life Sciences Industry Strategy

The Cook Government will provide Life Sciences WA Inc (LSWA) with $245,000 (ex GST) in sponsorship each year for the next two years, to enhance growth and targeted support for the State’s life sciences sector.

The life science industry encompasses research, development and commercialisation activities across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, digital health, agritech, and aquatech.

Established in 2021, LSWA is a collaboration of stakeholders from a wide variety of backgrounds including research institutes, universities and industry.

As the State’s life science industry association, LSWA aims to attract investment and talent to WA’s life sciences businesses, and plays a leading role in helping shape the direction and growth of the sector in WA.

LSWA operates as a not-for-profit organisation with financial support from its membership base, sponsors and grant funding.
