Cool change in south, Dry surge in north

BOM

Areas of fog in the north will continue over the next few days before another dry surge reaches the Top End during Friday and Saturday.

The Top End’s dry burst will be accompanied by strong winds and is likely to lead to Coastal Wind Warnings for the Gulf of Carpentaria from Friday to Sunday.

A ridge strengthening over central Australia will bring a cool change to southern districts from Wednesday.

The cool change in the south will drop temperatures from a maximum of 25°C today in Alice Springs to the high teens from Wednesday. Tennant Creek is forecast to drop to the mid to low twenties from Thursday, following a high of 31°C today.

A cloud band developing over southern NT will maintain the cooler daytime temperatures through most of the week.

Light showers are also possible across parts of the Tanami and Lasseter Districts during Friday and Saturday.

Darwin will remain above 30°C through the week, becoming less humid from Saturday.
