Council launches ‘DindiLink’ support service

Not everyone is lucky enough to have the support of family, friends and neighbours to help out at the moment. That’s why we recently launched ‘DindiLink’.

Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Leigh Dunscombe said ‘DindiLink’ is a fantastic new support service aimed at helping people over the age of 65, and others who are in higher-risk categories for COVID-19.

‘Higher-risk categories include people who have serious health issues, people with lowered immune systems or other issues that make them vulnerable. The advice from the Chief Health Officer is that these people should be staying home as much as possible, as they are at greater risk of more serious illness if they are infected with Coronavirus.

‘The ‘DindiLink’ service aims to support people in our community who need help and might not have friends, family or neighbours who can help them. I’ve heard some really heartwarming stories of people supporting their neighbours by dropping off essential items to them and it’s great to see our community coming together during this difficult time. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have these support networks around them – maybe you aren’t able to use online ordering services to have your food delivered and you need a helping hand to get that sorted – and that’s where we come in.

‘We encourage anyone who is at higher risk for COVID-19 to stay home as much as possible and Council is more than happy to help out where we can or link people to other services to make sure that can happen.

‘If you think you are eligible, please give us a call on 5772
