COVID-19 case update

Two new positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the Northern Territory in the past 24 hours.

A 77 year old female who arrived on the repatriation flight from Chennai, India on 14 December 2020 has tested positive for COVID-19, along with a 56 year old female who arrived on the repatriation flight from Paris on 17 December 2020. They both remain under the care of the AUSMAT team at the NT Centre for National Resilience.

Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020:

· 1750 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience

· A total of 35 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 69. All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
