COVID-19 – Infringement notice – Berry Springs

Northern Territory Police have issued an infringement notice for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environmental Health Act 2011.

On Friday 19 June 2020, a compliance team were conducting checks on a 30-year-old man in Berry Springs. At the time of the check, the man was not at home and was contacted by Police to return to his property.

The infringement penalty for an individual is $1,099 and $5,495 for a business.

NT Police and Environmental Health Officers continue to undertake compliance activities.

17,571 compliance checks have now been completed and 71 fines issued.
