Cr Jason Modica was elected Deputy Mayor at tonight’s Special Meeting of Council and will fill the position for the remainder of the current term.
The meeting follows the resignation last month of Cr Cyndi Power.
Under the Victorian Local Government Act 2020, Council was required to hold an election to fill the Deputy Mayor’s position within a month of the position becoming vacant.
