Performances in flexible spaces such as the entry laneway and ‘the Meeting Place’ foyer and bar will now be possible, after $244,898 was awarded to the Goulburn Performing Arts Centre through the NSW Government Creative Capital Fund.

A grand piano, further lighting and sound equipment and portable technical gear for performances in outdoor settings and smaller spaces has been secured, and will ensure GPAC is a flexible, well rounded venue from day one once opened in March 2022.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman welcomed the funding

“I am delighted the NSW Government is investing in not only building these arts facilities, but also ensuring they’ve got the right equipment to function to the highest standard. Funding this specialist equipment means we will get more use from these facilities and help them provide even better cultural experiences for our local audiences to enjoy,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

GPAC Manager Raina Savage said, “Securing a concert grand and other orchestra equipment will equip GPAC as a world class concert venue, able to attract national and international artists of the highest calibre as well as providing professional performance experience for our own talented locals. We are also excited to be able to resource and connect with our outlying communities with the purchase of quality technical equipment for touring and outdoor performances.”

Tickets are now on sale for nine different shows at Goulburn Performing Arts Centre during 2022, with a second release of performances to go on sale in mid-January.

Goulburn Performing Arts Centre will be officially opened over a huge weekend to be held on the 25th and 26th March 2022. The highlight of the weekend will be a spectacular community based performance held on Friday and Saturday evening.

The GPAC season launch for 2022 presenting our curated program of high calibre shows and free community open day will be held on Saturday 2nd April, followed by a free short film event on Sunday 3rd April.
